Our auction fees start from £60 inc vat if you have a registered trade account or £90 inc vat if you are a private buyer/seller. A full list of our fees can be found here under the “Rates & Terms” section of our website. Buying & Selling fees.

This depends on if you wish to take the vehicle with you on the night of purchasing.

Deposits of up to £500 by Debit/Credit card or Bank Transfer will be taken before you bid for vehicles. If unsuccessful refund will be applied in full if requested.

Call us immediately and inform us, however, if your bid has been accepted by the seller then you have entered into a contract to purchase the vehicle and you must pay for the vehicle in full.

The LIVE BID is an online bidding system. You can bid for the vehicles LIVE that are going through the auction. Register here free.

We value a vehicle using the mileage, bodywork & mechanical condition via CAP valuation figures.

Vehicles that are SOLD WITH A TRIAL have a 45-point visual inspection report. This report is available online. Vehicles SOLD AS SEEN do not have any mechanical checks only NAMA condition reports which can also be found online for each vehicle.

To enter your vehicle into auction we would advise that we value the vehicle first. This can be done over the phone or via our online valuation form. Once you have a valuation, please contact us to book an appointment to drop the vehicle to us along with V5 registration document, MOT certificate, service history, spare keys etc. We will ask to see your photo ID and proof of address and will need you to complete an online AUCTION ENTRY FORM. There are no entry fees upon putting your vehicle into auction but remember when putting a reserve on your vehicle a selling fee will be deducted. A list of our Private buyer fees & Trade buyer fees can be found on our website or in the auction hall.

Once a bid has been accepted by the auctioneer either online or in the auction hall your bid is not able to be retracted.

Once the seller has accepted a bid then the vehicle is considered sold and the seller will not be able to change their mind.

We recommend that you valet your vehicle inside and out to make sure it stands out and looks its best. If you don’t have time simply let us know and we will get it done on your behalf, please request a quote.

Yes, we hold Classic, Retro & Performance Vehicle Auctions throughout the year on Saturdays. For more information please visit https://www.letchworthmotorauctions.co.uk/classic-auction/

We don’t offer finance so we will require full payment within 48 hours. If you are a motor trader, we would suggest speaking to NextGear Capital as they offer stock funding for motor dealers.

Buying from auction means that you are most often buying at a reduced value which will save you money compared to forecourt sale prices. We also give you information on the vehicle that some traders/private sellers might not tell you. We also encourage you to come down and view the vehicle before accepting any bids/offers from you to ensure you know the vehicles condition before you drive away.

There are no licences for dealers. The auction is open to private individuals and trade buyers. All you will need is a photo card driving license or passport and recent utility bill as proof of identity.  If you are a motor trader and have trade insurance, we recommend setting up a trade account with us which will give you discounted fees. To set up a trade account we need your photo card driving license, copy of full trade policy (temporary notices not accepted) and our trade application form.

Yes, anyone can visit our auction. We are open to private buyers and trade.

Some salvage vehicles are sold in great condition and can be sold very cheaply but we do always advise you to properly look around a vehicle before bidding/purchasing.

You can buy and sell as many as you want but we wouldn’t recommend trading vehicles without trade insurance as you wouldn’t be insured to drive/keep these vehicles.

The majority of our stock comes direct from main dealers as part exchange or overage stock. Private buyers, smaller motor traders, and sole traders also use us to sell their vehicles as we can advertise to lots more people quicker and easier.

Please visit our “New to Auction” section on our website for all you need to know on buying and selling at our auction

This varies depending on how much stock we have in but usually 1 – 1 ½ hours.

Once a bid has been submitted either in the hall or online this is considered as you are entering into a legally verbal binding contract.

It is down to the auctioneer to accept the bids and the auctioneer’s word is final. The auctioneer will only disregard bids with good and fair grounds to dismiss.

Requesting a new V5 document can take up to 6 weeks to receive from the DVLA but usually a lot quicker and you can purchase registration plates on the same day.

You can get new registration plates from many local businesses who offer this service or we can supply upon request.

Our auctions are held every Tuesday  and Thursday from 6:30 pm. Online bidding available. Register here.
